About

The Classification Viewer in Grooper is a specialized interface designed to help users review and manage the results of automated document classification within a Batch. Its primary purpose is to ensure that each Document in a Batch is correctly identified and assigned the appropriate Document Type, supporting quality assurance and exception handling in document processing workflows.

Accessing the Classification Viewer

To open the Classification Viewer:

  1. Navigate to the Batches page in Grooper.
  2. Locate and select a Batch that contains a Classification Viewer activity as part of its Batch Process.
  3. Double-click the Batch to launch the Review interface.

Navigating the Classification Viewer interface:

  • The interface displays a list of Documents within the Batch, along with their current classification status.
  • Panels such as the Document Types panel and the main Document list help you view and manage classification results.
  • Tabs or views may be available for switching between different perspectives, such as Folder View, Thumbnail View, or Data View.

Reviewing Classification

To review classification results for each Document:

  1. Select a Document in the Batch list.
  2. The interface will display the assigned Document Type and the confidence score for the classification.
    • Review the classification details, which may include:
      • The confidence score indicating how certain Grooper is about the classification.
      • Additional details or evidence used to determine the Document Type.

The Confidence Score

The "Confidence Score" is, as the name states, a percentage score Grooper gives a Document that tells how confident it is that a Document is a certain Document Type. For example, let's say you have an invoice in your Batch from a company named Fairdeal. You, as a human, are 100% sure that that is a Fairdeal invoice just by looking at it. But how confident is Grooper? That's where's the confidence score comes in. To examine a Confidence Score on a Document:

  1. Click on a Document in the list to highlight it.
  2. Look for the Document Type field and the confidence score, typically shown next to the Document name or in a details panel.

Additional Notes on the Confidence Score:

  • A Confidence Score of at least 60% is needed to classify a Document.
  • When the difference of two scores is less than 2%, Grooper will leave the Document unclassified as a fail-safe.
