New Separation Provider: Auto Separate
- Auto Separate is an AI-enabled separation method in Grooper that requires little setup and no training.
- This provider uses a large language model (LLM) to determine if a page is the first page of a new document.
- Edit the “Instructions” to guide the LLMs separation decisioning (Entire criteria for a page to qualify or not qualify as a first page).
- The “Window Extent” property controls how many pages will allow Auto Separate to inspect pages on each side of the current page to help determine if it’s looking the first page. The default is “1” meaning one page before and one page after will be examined.
- This should be considered a “beta” feature. It has not been tested extensively in real world scenarios.
AI Separate can now classify while separating.
- AI Separate can now classify documents as they are separated when one or more Document Types are added to the “Document Types” property. When set, the large language model (LLM) will be prompted to select the most appropriate Document Type.
- The LLM’s prompt will also include anything written in the Document Type’s “Description” to help guide the model’s choice.
- If no Document Types are specified, classification is disabled and only separation occurs.
